Meet Eileen

founder and lead photographer

Adventurer at heart, Eileen’s leap into photography started at a young age. Driven by her love of exploration, she went on to attend a fine arts program at the International Center of Photography in New York City. Here, with museums, galleries, and exhibitions in abundance she discovered the art of storytelling through photography. After building her portfolio under the mentorship of many influential wedding photographers she opened her own studio, ready to share her passion with the world. 

More than once she’s sold her things and bought a one-way ticket, always with her camera in hand. But no matter how far she roamed, a piece of her heart always belongs to her childhood street, Buena Lane.

HER APPROACH

As a seasoned photographer and founder of Buena Lane, Eileen’s approach is honest, refreshing, and inspired by the ease and beauty of nature. With a love of sweeping landscapes, intimate gatherings, and thrill of a new adventure, Eileen captures the authentic, in-between moments of the world around her. 

She’s long preferred brides who are willing to ditch classic wedding traditions to “serve wedding cobbler” simply because it’s their favorite food.

For Eileen, weddings bring together many aspects of photography she has long enjoyed, such as portraiture, documentary, food, landscape, and travel. It becomes less about capturing the perfect shot and more about bringing together the landscape of the venue, the details you’ve planned, and the spontaneous intimate moments. She works to capture the energy of each interaction in true storyteller fashion, reminding you of every feeling and emotion of that moment each time you look back on your collection.  

Eileen is experienced in the art of blending seamlessly into her surroundings while also offering thoughtful guidance and organization when needed in order to capture your most candid and carefree moments.

Eileen works in both film and digital photography, optimizing the location, feel, and scenery of your celebration. Utilizing both film and digital photography during your event, she applies her strength in selecting the best medium for every frame. 

Refined by generations of artists, film is a timeless medium used in capturing mood through color tone bringing out the softness in every photograph to complement your collection beautifully. Where film captures a feeling, digital shows its strength by thriving in low-lighting settings and performing at a high speed, quickly capturing many images. High resolution allows for the fine details to be brought to life in your printed photographs. With both mediums working in harmony, they evoke the nostalgic feelings from the warm tones and intricate details to create timeless images of your most significant moments.

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?

Yes, please! Whether you’re sharing your vows on a secluded desert ridge, Santorini at sundown, a Brooklyn loft, or your grandpa's goat farm, we want to be there to experience it.

WHAT ABOUT ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?

Engagement sessions are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and work through any awkward feelings before the big day. They last approximately 90 minutes, which typically allows enough time for an outfit change and second location.

You’re almost there! Once you’ve selected a collection that works for you, we require a signed client agreement and retainer to reserve your date.
