Eleanor and Jake spent a lot of time in this park early in the relationship, in fact, Jake proposed on a bench at the top of the hill overlooking the valley and San Francisco. They were excited to celebrate this gorgeous landscape with a photoshoot and wanted lots of Tiny People Big Places photos. We were lucky to have a beautiful winter afternoon and, as the sun dropped behind the trees, plenty of curious deer wandered down for a visit.
San Francisco Bay Area and Destination Weddings + Elopements 2018 | Year in Review
Every year it seems like our clients couldn’t get any cooler, yet every year, they awe us with their creativity, style, and commitment to creating a wedding day that feels just right for them. From tintype portraits in the forest to fireworks over the water, this year held more than we ever could have imagined. We kicked things off with a beautiful winter engagement at Sutro Baths and several lovely City Hall celebrations. Summer took us to Utah, Big Sur, Yosemite, Carmel Valley, Marin, and we welcomed winter with a cozy barn wedding in Maine! Below are highlights, more or less in order.
We can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. This year’s wish list: Timber Cove, Inverness, Patzcuaro, Mexico, and lots more yurts and windblown cliffs!
Asilomar Beach Engagement | Pacific Grove
The Monterey area has always been special to Bianca and Sam, so they decided on an engagement session celebrating the beautiful coastline. Slightly smoky haze from valley fires made for a diffused autumn light and bold sunset.
After seven year of long distance, the pair are back together in the Bay Area and planning a wedding at Stanford, where they met. Their reception at Hidden Villa will include performance by both the bride and groom and blend their Mexican and Philippine heritage. Sam even brought out the guitar for a sneak peek!
Moody Autumnal New England Forest Wedding
Jaya and Jon lived in LA and New York before finding their way to Portland, Maine, and with family and friends coming from all over the county, they wanted their wedding to show off the food and scenery of the region. Jaya embraced their Halloween-weekend date by going for autumnal moody decor, much of which she crafted herself.
They loved the colorful leaves of the forest sanctuary behind the Barn on Walnut Hill, but when rain moved the event inside, their ceremony turned warm and cozy with inviting candlelit surrounding the guests and illuminating the rich crimsons, golds, and black velvet decorating the barn.
Behind the barn, Harvest Moon catering worked tirelessly in the rain to wood-fire fresh beets, foraged mushrooms, and winter squash for a beautiful farm to table meal.
Jon and Jaya also enlisted the talents of their friends and family to make the night even more special and personal. The event included musical performances by friends during the ceremony, a witty and heartfelt toast from Jaya’s sister (who also designed the invitations!) and her cousins even performed an impromptu song once the dance floor opened!
