Intimate Summer Solstice Wedding in Carmel Valley

Intimate Summer Solstice Wedding_Carmel Valley_Buena Lane Photography_80.jpg

Since early in their relationship, Cristina and Tim have had a tradition of spending the summer solstice together doing fun things from sunrise to sunset. When the pair got engaged, Tim's sister had just accepted a job that required her to be on stage every Saturday... for a year. Her only consistent day off was Tuesday.

This year, Cristina and Tim soon realized, the solstice fell on a Tuesday.

And so it was settled.

They gathered their parents, siblings, and a few close friends for a hillside ceremony on the day when the sun seems to stand still. When it finally set, they were married, and enjoying an intimate dinner under the stars.

Elegant Texas Grandeur on the California Coast

When it came to their wedding, this stylish pair wanted to combine their Texas and California roots for an intimate "backyard" celebration in the location where they fell in love and became engaged.

Megan and Michaela chose  late spring, because the area is bursting with flowers and greenery and enhance the ceremony and reception locations with colorful wind-blown ribbons and bursting spring floral arrangements.

They poured their creativity, style, and love into every unique, personal detail, collecting plates for 2 years to create an eclectic table of mismatched white and gold place-settings and painting plate chargers and candle-holders by hand. They even gave each guest a small wooden pot filled with small personal notes.

Chic City-Top Museum Wedding

The fact that Benji and Paris are architects may not surprise. Their eye for design and appreciation for structure seems to comes through in everything from their venue to flower choice.

The invitations, complete with the couple's thumbprints and Paris' sketches of San Francisco, included a request for guests to make and mail back paper cranes for luck, happiness, and prosperity.

Lace + Quartz Modern City Hall Elopement

San Francisco is brimming with charming, elegant venues to host post-City Hall nuptials. For this shoot, we sought a unique and unexplored space. The interior of the recently opened Cambria Gallery in the SoMa neighborhood just south of City Hall was an inspiring discovery. We fell in love with the combination of colors and textures and the urban, modern décor. Marble, quartz, and exposed brick give the showroom a very dramatic and industrial look, particularly when paired with a bold, graphic print. The space inspired an urban, yet feminine vibe and a chic, modern, yet approachable look for our shoot.
